BACKGROUND:
You are human. And a knowledgeable one as well. You are responsible for the theories behind the new deisgn of the ship, making sure the interaction between the engines and the ship would not tear it apart when used. You were expecting a maybe prize or two and letters of commendation, but to get caught up in this firefight is simply intolerable. The only good thing is that two of your close colleagues have also survived.
Hopefully, this knowledge will keep you going as you try to sort the wheat from the chaff.
