Interesting setup.
A nice twist you might want to use if you ever run this again is to include a gadget that will actually rejoin a severed link (whether that be limited to reconnecting only a previous link or reconnecting any two unlinked collars would need to be decided).
Or maybe have only partial links to begin with, and give people the option of using the gadget to link.
I think this gadget would only work in a larger game, though. Might prove rather interesting.

Hey, Sinjin. Your PIS is spraying the thread.
Interesting that the majority of people who have speculated about gadgets have been Vanilla town. And the one person who jumps on those, fearing they are power roles outing themselves, is a scum who knows that gadgets exist.
It'll be interesting if any townie eventually brings up this point. Granted, it will involve a lot of day 1 rehashing, and won't even become apparent until a bunch of vanillas die, so you can't fault town too much for missing the subtlety of it, but from my spoiled position, it definitely appears to be a mistake on her part.
It also seem to portend that scum will likely be trying to kill these Vanilla that opened their virtual mouths about this.

It does look that way.
I've already thought of a couple of changes should I ever run this game again as well. Certainly some tricks missed when setting it up.
I slightly suprised that after several pages generated up front, it quietened off, although with thanksgiving coming up, somehow I don't think too many people are going to be paying that much attention.
I'm looking forward to sachertorte reading the setup and noting that several of his preconceptions were incorrect. But I'll admit its amazing to watch several people take the game pretty much apart. I spent a few weeks trying to work this out, so to get most of it in a couple of days is impressive.

And Guiri is already getting pings from two scum.
He and Bill really are amazing at their abilities to sniff scum out.

Silver Jan:
It's not very often you see someone actually justify an OMGUS vote with an OMGUS argument.

I think Mahaloth needs to change his scum style. The only upside is that he is linked to a town power role. Although all that will be mentioned in the end colour is the team they are on.

I think that Inner Sticklers "worst case scenario" is really bad for the BLUE TEAM because that would also mean that during the Day .... If a BLUE TEAM member is looking likely to be lynched , and they are attached to another BLUE TEAM member... RED TEAM would know this and be more than happy to push the lynch that way... I just feel that IF they have that knowledge... It makes them very powerful. But isn't this the same for every game. The scum know who is on their side and if a town comes up for lynch they will push the lynch. Or not as the case maybe, because it is obvious when a lynch is pushed.

This is interesting. Of the three people on the spot atm, 2 are linked to power roles, 1 is linked to sachertorte and the other is Special Ed.
Best town play is actually for Special Ed to die, not that it knows that of course.
However, if paranoia is lynched, it wil confirm to gnarlycharlie that alignment and not role are being given away.

Just out of curiousity, for those who are spoiled.
Looking at it, do you think the game is balanced?

Just out of curiousity, for those who are spoiled. Looking at it, do you think the game is balanced? On the whole, I think it's balanced towards scum, seeing as how up to four town can be killed in a cycle. And since they can break the links between them and town, they don't have to worry about dying themselves from a mislynch. Now linking scum to the power roles mitigates this, but you'll never be able to pull it off again, and if scum ever figured it out, which is a reasonable assumption given the publicly known mechanics, it could lead to a scum lock for the win. But I haven't really sat down and truly run all the scenarios through my head. So I won't strongly say its scum tilted, but on the surface it seems that way to me.

That's partly what I was afraid of, that I would bias it that way.
I was expecting most of the links to be broken by Night 4, with the idea that the scum need to put away as many pairs as possible before it settles down to a straight race. Drat.

You know, there are some times when I wonder whether its not the players making it gastardly, but the actual frigging game itself that enjoys screwing with us.
BillMc can rejoin and deni gets killed off by the scum. I didn't know that BillMc was going to rejoin until after Day 3 started.
Then again, if I had known, the scum would have killed him off and MHaye would be playing deni's role. Of course, Polllux Oil would have found out about storyteller and I have no idea how that would have played out.
Yup, this game likes screwing with me.

Dang. Well, the setup's very interesting. Only a few linked collars left, which is probably more advantageous for town than scum. After seeing the scum team, I'm not surprised I ended up dead. I hope the rest of the town follow up on me and sachertorte's eyeing of storyteller, but I don't think it's gonna happen. He was going to be my prime focus on Day Three, even before I got the result. There was at least one thing I wanted to say that I forgot to in the Day Two thread. Bah!

You know, there is a delicious irony in the fact that people can vote for the person they are linked to thus sealing their own fate if it comes to it.
See BillMc and colby, Sis C and lightfoot.
